Hurt Trucker helped a trucker recover $65,000 for wrongful termination. Missouri law prohibits employers from retaliating against employees for filing workers’ compensation claims and exercising their legal rights. Our trucker client was injured on the job, and his employer sent him to a doctor as required by the workers’ compensation law. The employer’s doctor said our client had a hip injury and needed treatment; but the employer refused and then fired our client claiming that he violated a work rule. We filed a workers compensation claim and filed a wrongful discharge/retaliation lawsuit under Missouri law. After negotiating for several weeks, we were able to successfully settle the case for $65,000.
